How Green Credits work
Green Credits are our estimate of the CO₂ you avoid by moving under your own power instead of taking a car.
The formula
kg CO₂ saved = kilometres × 0.17 × eligibility
- 0.17 kg per km is a typical figure for an average petrol car per passenger-kilometre.
- Eligibility 1.0 when you tag a trip as “Commute or errand” — a trip that really replaced a car ride.
- Eligibility 0.25 for other outdoor walks, runs and rides, because not every leisure trip replaces a car.
What counts
- Outdoor walks, runs and rides tracked with FytVo GPS in the app.
- Swims, indoor workouts, manual entries and imported Strava activities do not earn Green Credits.
- Activities faster than our speed limits (walk 9, run 22, cycle 60 km/h) are flagged and can be voided.
What Green Credits are not
Green Credits are a motivational estimate shown in FytVo. They are not carbon credits or offsets, cannot be sold or traded, and are not certified by any registry. Companies may use team totals as an indicative figure in wellness or ESG reports, with this method attached.
